I love twitter. It is fast, quick and instant (fast is good in my book!)

Twitter is not only instant it is an excellent way to connect and, I think most importantly, cuts through a lot of the noise and clutter of the net, allowing you to get access to the information you want, when you want. This is me on twitter here.

Anyway, I can’t help but notice twitter’s brand is looking a bit old, a bit stale and to be honest, a bit awkward.

Here’s some incredible alternatives that I think are a massive upgrade on the current look.

Whaddya reckon tweets?

Love this. It’s a Lego re-creation of the bullet dodge scene from The Matrix and it took 440 hours of work to complete.

It’s ten years since The Matrix was released. It for me was one of those (rare) movies that rocked my world. God spoke through it big time. I still love so many of the Matrix quotes:

Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad. Do you know what I’m talking about?

I do. Do you?

I have had people ask me – what’s Twitter? (You may’ve seen it on my facebook profile status). So what is twitter?

Twitter is sort of like blogging, but on a micro scale. 140 characters is all you get in each post.

So how does it work?

I post something short and sweet either via the web or sms.

Then, friends of mine (fellow twitterers) who subscribe to my Twitter page receive an instant update on their Twitter page.

And here’s where it starts getting fun….

When you read a Tweet (Twitter post) you like, you can reply to it and comment back, which makes it a bit like community instant messaging.

Twittering can be a bit addictive BUT it’s GREAT if you’re a bit ADD and it’s a pretty amazing way to communicate quickly with a whole lot of people.

Twhirl is a great desktop app which keeps you updated on what your twitter friends are up to with out you needing to refresh the twitter.com page. You can also post, reply and direct message from this app. Really handy.

We’re starting something new here.

Nothing novel about a personal weblog, I know. So it’s what my typing fingers make of it that will count.

The aim is not to change the blogging world; but we are going to go for quality over quantity. It’s all about sifting the heart and sharpening mind.
